The Northern New Territories Hash House Harriers. |
|---|
A mixed up group of British Army, Australian Navy, 'China Listeners' and some civvies got |
together to form the N2TH3 in 1983. The hash idea was a running group who got together |
every Wednesday evening in Hong Lok Yuen, near Tai Po, in the deepest New Territories of |
Hong Kong. After travelling to a village destination the pre-laid trail was followed by the |
hash through villages, rivers, shiggy, up and over the hillsides. This was followed by a |
'circle' where drinks were awarded to individuals who committed henious crimes. These |
included running too close to the front of the pack, too fast, racing, falling over and short |
cutting. This was followed by an On On at a local Dai Pai Dong for basic cheap cantonese |
food and more alcohol. Hangovers were a common problem on Thursday morning. |
Today, 1000 odd runs later, the idea is exactly the same. |
The mixed pack size these days is about 15 to 20. It consists of all known genders, a array |
of nationalities and quaffs vast amounts of the local brew, Carlsberg or the imported |
Castle beer. The highlights of the year include the annual TaiPo Xmas Pub Run, AGM Run |
and the GM's tour abroad to Macau or a another country in Asia. |
All are welcome to join but please remember there are no rules.... |
