10 March 2009 in UncategorizedKau Lung Hang (Rocky’s beer garden)
G’day All,
Unfortunately for you lot, DRAM in a moment of madness nominated me as the hare! I have blazed trails to keep the wimps happy & the rambos whinging for months around my place. The run will start from Rocky’s & Gravel Crack’s house at 73 Kau Lung Hang Village (directions below & on mud map attached). Circle & on, on shall be conducted on our lawn, herein after referred to as ‘The Beer Garden‘.
The bbq is to help celebrate the birthday of our biggest whinging bastard, Mango Groove’s love child EUNUCH. This prick is still disgustingly young…….ie a hell of a lot younger than most of us, still under 40……..apparently, this bastard will only be 38 on Wednesday. So, in order to help him get absolutely shitfaced, join us in The Beer Garden.
Pubic Transport
Basically get yourselves to Tai Wo MTR East station. If you have come from Tai Po Market direction exit from that platform, go into the shopping mall, turn left. A little bit to the right, you should see sign & escalator taking you outside to the road & bus stops. Nearby is a McDonalds chunder burger joint. The 25B mini bus (it will have Yuen Leng on the sign) will take you to the pagoda at Kau Lung Hang, which is the first stop after you go under a railway subway out in the villages. It’s near the end of the route, after going down the Tai Wo Service Rd West. If it the buses are full, you can also get the 73/ 73A KMB bus, which also follows Tai Wo Service Rd West. Get off at the Kau Lung Hang stop (just past the Wo Hop Shek cemetry turnoff) & cross over the freeway & railway footbridges……..you’ll also cross over a large drain………..this will get you to the pagoda. Follow the arrows to the start.
You can also pick up the 25B in Tai Po Market. It leaves from near the mall on Po Heung St. Need to get off at Tai Po Market KCR & walk around.
Driving
Exit freeway from Tai Po at Lam Kam Interchange roundabout (Hong Lok Yuen exit), take the second roundabout exit keeping to the left. This will take you up to the set of lights, turn left. You should be on Tai Wo Service Rd West. Follow rd until next traffic lights (just past Wo Hop Shek Cemetry turnoff), turn right & follow mud map
From Fanling, you’ll see the Kau Lung Hang exit. Follow mud map.
Unlike the mongrel, useless hare from last week, my phone will be operating so you can call me on 9154 2889.
On, on ya bastards
Rocky

Logistics
10 February 2009 in UncategorizedThe new drink-driving laws are having quite an impact on the hash, as evidenced by last week’s driver no-show at HLY and the abandoning of one-third of the pack. Of course nobody can afford to lose their licence, and habitual drivers cannot be blamed for no-shows. Last week’s run was also a little unusual in that HLY was a bit out of the way for those who did drive. Nonetheless, driving to the run is likely to present a problem for many of us from now on and, like it or not, things have got to change.
Driving has been greatly to our advantage up till now, allowing us to habitually run in remote and wild places. It would be a terrible shame to lose this ability to really get off the beaten track. I don’t think any of us want to become the sort of oufit that runs from public transport hubs and spends half its time pounding pavements. The hash would be lessened.
No lesser hash status for N2TH3!
So what is to be done?
Please use this forum to put forward your views on this turn of events.
I’ll get the ball rolling.
First, we need to abandon HLY as the meeting place. If there are fewer, or no, drivers then any meeting point should be at a major public transport junction for ease of access. HLY is not the easiest place to get to and is anyway a historical anachronism from the days when lots of hashers lived there. Nobody does now. Tai Po, Tai Wo or Fanling East Rail stations or even Kam Sheung Road West Rail station could be used.
Second, we should consider using taxis to get to run starts. Assuming only the Beer Monitor is driving (and remember this changes every month), then putting four people in a taxi for an average $100 trip would result in an average of $25 per head. Double this for the return, which may not be necessary for everybody depending on where they live and where the run is. obviously, if the run is in a remote spot we’d need to book the same taxi(s) for the return trip at a prearranged time. Some may decry the added expense, but these will be the non-drivers of the past; drivers have been bearing the expense of driving to HLY / Wu Kau Tang / Hok Tau and wherever for years so the expense side should not be an issue.
Third, hares need to research and publicise public transport access to their run, if it applies.
It may be that a combination of these and other options need be floated and the most appropriate one (or combo) adopted for any given week. In this case, hares need to have their runs prepared ahead of time and appropriate instructions issued, e.g.
Run is at Ngau Tam Mei (see map). Meet at Kam Sheung Road West Rail 7pm. Cars/taxis off 7.15pm, taxi fare approximately $80. Public transport unavailable.
Let the nitpicking, pissing on, slagging off and RAUCOUS SHOUTING begin!

11th Feb - Tai Po South
9 February 2009 in Run directionsTai Po South - New Park
Isn’t it just great to find out it’s your turn to set a run a mere 24 hours before it starts? ..Well without a plan, I’ve decided to set the buggar from the new park right next to the Sinopec garage at Tai Po south - chosen purely for it’s proximity to the pub …. see plan below for clarity:-

On up…..
5 February 2009 in Run ReportsLiberace sets vertical run.
What could be more relaxing than a stroll around the beautiful surrounding scenery of Sham Tseng, followed by a sumptuous greasy goose meal in one of the charming local restaurants?
Well the restaurateurs seemed less than welcoming for a start, as myself and Velcro were given the ever delightful ‘you no park here!’ treatment. Next up was the run start, reeking of Moonie piss and under a humongous concrete flyover, it was not the most cosy of places the NT hash has started from, however the simple creature comforts of 2 plastic animals on springs did seem to make it so much better. Big Boney then turned up with a civic full of Kam Tin Neanderthals and a boot full of tramp juice, followed by his traditional cry of “can some of you f**ing of b*stards help me with the beer please”.. Nice.
Ah the run… Liberace’s prep talk seemed to concentrate on the following:-
i) Take the care
ii) Most dangerous
iii) Only 40 minute run
iv) The girls don’t attempt the Rambo’s
Sounds fun! even Velcro couldn’t contain her glee at the prospect of an easy 40 minute run coupled with a ‘get out of feeling bad about not doing the rambo’s free’ card.
About 10 minutes later however, Velcro had to be shoe-horned out of a small nullah which she’d fallen into arse-first (a small popping noise was heard by the GM as this happened). This was enough to send our lofty heroine back to the start - defeated, yet happy to tuck into the piss of course. Our next casualty was the GM himself halfway up the first hill, (a near vertical ascent through bush) he discovered that it is possible to suffer vertigo whilst lying on the floor, and decided that the day wasn’t indeed a day to piss with gravity. And he thought the way up was bad, well hot-flangecakes the way down was even worse, dense shiggy with loads of creepers to trip the poor battered pack over coupled with low branches ensuring each member of the remaining pack either a nose dive hash crash or a slight bludgeoning via wood to the head.
On to the Rambo Wimp split which revealed the next batch of casualties as both Big Moaney and G Spot decided that they’d had enough action thankyou very much and opted for the easy streets of wimpdom leaving only Moonie, Go Sex Pest and myself to battle through the Rambo trail. As it happens the rambo trail wasn’t too bad - the conversation between the runners being on more dangerous ground as we discussed the sticky issues of racism and name calling. Go Sex Pest had some good points, but Moonie and I weren’t paying attention as he’s a carrot topped, four eyed, Gweilow twat.
Just as airplanes crash, time did fly and soon enough the trail reunited with the wimps on what seemed like a straightforward trot downhill and back along the main road to Sham Tseng but no, the trail decided to veer off up a hundred meteres or so of the carriageway of the Tuen Mun highway, up 2 flimsy catladders ladders to a dizzying ledge way above it, and then following the fenceline of the local prison. Normally following a fencline ain’t too much of a problem, however this bastard had a path only about a foot wide beneath it, with a sheer drop next to the path ensuring that any slip ups would result in bonnet ketchup for the speeding cars some 100m below. Halfway around the path was illuminated by the white knuckles of G Spot, who must have looked down, had a reality check and therefore decided to cling on to the fence for dear life whilst edging slowly along.
Being a well seasoned hare, Liberace finished on a high by sending us down a concrete path which felt like a superhighway compared to the rest of the run - though Go Sex Pest and myself did get lost at the bottom of the hill - deciding to take a long cut through some government land containing beehives.
Circle fun and goose tiffin did follow.
Eunuch.

Golden Balls, Liberace, VD, G Spot, Velcro Lips, Walkie Talkie, Moonie, Big Moaney, Go Sex Pest and Eunuch.
4th Feb 2009 Run Sham Sheng
4 February 2009 in Run directionsThis is what the Hare wrote:
Hi all guys,
Tomorrow’s will be at Sham Tseng goose restaurant. Drive to Tuen Mun hightway, down to Castle Peak Road when meeting the Sham Tseng intercross, turn right Castle Peak Road then take the first right turn to Sham Hong Road when seeing the brand of “Welcome suppermarket”. Park in the left carpark beside the play ground.
On on will take place at the first goose restaurant, the same (on on place) as my last Sek Kong run about couple month ago.
Please note my no. 62208311 if necessary.
See you all tomorrow!
Liberace
I’m sure it’ll be lovely!
